Green Punjab programme moving swiftly: chief minister

Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi chairing a meeting here on Saturday said that his government's scheme for provision of 4-stroke rickshaws under 'Green Punjab Programme' was moving swiftly.
The Chief Minister said that Punjab Provincial Co-operative Bank Limited has also commenced giving interest free-loans for getting these rickshaws. He said provision of new rickshaws have made a strong impact on curbing environmental pollution.
Pervaiz Elahi said that private sector was involved in manufacturing of this rickshaw and their standard of manufacturing was excellent. He said CNG technology was making very positive impact on environment.
Pervaiz Elahi also gave instructions that provincial government while providing facilities in housing schemes made by it must ensure viability of these for at least 50-year period. The Chief Minister also viewed development and planning of schemes of government servants and journalists undertook by provincial government and gave instructions regarding these in the meeting.
