Indian Ambassador to United States Ronen Sen said that it was difficult to conduct negotiation with Pakistan in framework of terrorism and called for dismantling terrorism infrastructure.
He said that New Delhi track record in non-proliferation was much better than any other nation. According to AIR, in his address at the Institute of Policy Studies in Washington, Indian Ambassador acknowledged that the nuclear agreement between the United States and India has some opposition but asserted that the debate is dissimilar in the two countries.
He pointed out that it was not for India to set the timetable on when the agreement is going to be approved by the congress.
On Indo-Pak relations, the ambassador stressed that it was difficult to conduct negotiations in framework of terrorism and said steps must be taken to dismantle the infrastructure of terrorism.
Expressing concern over the situation in neighbouring Nepal and Bangladesh, he said India had a vital national security interest in the stability of its neighbourhood.
