NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani on Tuesday approved a raise of Rs 500 per month in fixed pay of class-IV employees with effect from November 1, 2006. The decision was taken during a meeting presided over by Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani, who signed the summary presented by Finance Department.
It is pertinent to mention here that according to the government decision, posting on BPS-1 Class-IV employees in education, health, public health, engineering, works & services, irrigation, agriculture, animal husbandry and forest takes place on fixed salary.
At this time there are total of 17940 fixed pay class-IV employees all over the province. Earlier on July 1, 2006, fifteen percent raise was announced by the government in the salaries of government servants. Keeping in view the price-hike it was necessary to announce increase in salaries of class-IV fixed pay employees. After this decision, the provincial exchequer would pay additional amount of Rs 71.760 million per year.
