Wolfensohn calls on Shaukat

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said that Pakistan is a high investment country that offers unlimited opportunities both in fixed income bonds as well as equities. The Prime Minister said this talking to the former World Bank President James D. Wolfensohn here in New York.
D Wolfensohn is now heads a leading investment firm, in New York. The Prime Minister said that Pakistan is currently seeking access to regional and global markets to accelerate economic growth and fund for country's development and infrastructure requirements.
Wolfensohn said that by staying on the present course Pakistan is becoming a major player in the region and will be soon in a position to attract investment from portfolio and direct investment.
The former World Bank Wolfensohn appreciated the economic policies being pursued by Pakistan. The Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz invited him to visit Pakistan. He said he would soon pay a visit to explore investment opportunities in the country.
