President, Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Liaquat Ahmad Khan on Saturday stressed for the removal of hurdles in the trade and industry sectors between Pakistan and India.
Talking to Commercial Attachi of Indian High Commission in Islamabad, P.C. Pande, he said the business community of both countries are interested in the promotion of trade relations. However, he urged on the government of both countries to play their roles in this regard.
The SCCI chief said the business community of both countries interested in improvement in social and economic relations, however, he said it required decisions at official level of both countries. He also stressed for exchange of trade delegations and information regarding trade and industry, participation in seminars and softening of visa regulations.
Speaking on the occasion, senior vice president SCCI, Haji Mohammad Israr said that precious and semi-precious gemstones of NWFP have no parallel in the world and called for utilisation of the expertees of India in their cutting and finishing. The official of Indian High Commission agreed with the proposals of SCCI president. They also exchanged views on some other important matters.
