Two hanged

Two condemned prisoners were hanged on Tuesday morning in District Jail Faisalabad in presence of local magistrate, jail staff and a medical officer. Their bodies were handed over to their relatives.
Muhammad Farooq (30) son of Rashid Ahmed had murdered his nephew following property dispute in Lundhianwala (Jaranwala) on November 16, 1998. Anti-terrorist court, Faisalabad headed by Chaudhry Muhammad Akram had awarded him death sentence on May 18, 1999. The high court and Supreme Court rejected his appeals and upheld the judgement of the ATC.
Another prisoner, Shah Nawaz son of Manzoor Ali (35) of Muridke (Sheikhupura) was also hanged today. He was convicted by ATC on August 30, 1993 for killing Muhammad Salim and his young son Tahir Javed on resistance during a dacoity bid on March 30, 1992 in Faisalabad.
