Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) will install five new grid stations in different parts of Rawalpindi for provision of electricity to people, avoid power breakdowns and reduce line losses.
These new grid stations would be installed at Satellite Town, Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Chakri, Kalar Sayyedan and Tarnol, said a report of the company.
The contracts for construction work and installation of grid stations have already been given to different companies and it will take almost nine-month to complete the project, the report stated.
It added that the World Bank also agreed to provide financial assistance to the Iesco in this new project. Iesco took various measures to streamline the billing system and save people from botheration during depositing electricity bills. For easy and smooth billing system, 50 National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) billing machines would installed out of which 24 had already been installed.
