Regional Police Officer Mirza Muhammad Ali on Thursday visited various parts of the city and inspected the security arrangements for guest cricket team of west Indies, and three days religious congregation of Daawat-i-Islami from November 17 to 19 while bomb disposal squads searched all the important places to avert any eventuality.
Accompanied by the officials of City District Government Mirza Muhammad Ali, RPO took round of the city and at places directed for beefing up of security arrangements and TMA official asked for lifting garbage from the roads leading to Sehra-i-Madina where the congregation is being held.
Later, he informed journalists that they have made extra-ordinary security arrangements for these two major events and law-enforcement officials would remain on duty round the clock. He said that Traffic Plan has already been chalked out and a number of roads were declared for one way traffic.
Hotels where the teams stayed were kept in tight security. All the guests staying there had vacated their rooms and shifted to other hotels. Entry of journalists and other people have been prohibited in the hotel.
