Japan seeks 170,000 tonnes of wheat

Japan's Agriculture Ministry is seeking to buy 170,000 tonnes of wheat 90,000 tonnes from the United States and 40,000 tonnes each from Canada and Australia at a weekly tender, a ministry official said on Friday.
The tender is due to being held on Wednesday. Next week is a shortened four-day week as on Thursday is a public holiday in Japan. All shipments are scheduled for January, he said.
