The Karachi Port handled 85,387 tonnes of cargo including 56,684 tonnes import, 28,703 tonnes export cargo and 1,944 containers during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday.
The cargo comprised of 31,387 tonnes dry cargo including 25,352 tonnes general cargo; 4,525 tonnes fertiliser; 532 tonnes rapeseed; 978 tonnes wheat; 6,035 tonnes bulk cargo and 54,000 tonnes oil/liquid cargo.
Eight ships namely Thor Champion, Y M Fortune, CMA CGM Simba, Tower Bridge, Intrepid, MT Swat, Liberty Eagle and African Shark sailed out to sea during the report period.
Five vessels viz Johar, Sp 5-Eric G Gibron, Southern Unicorn, Cemara and Orient Independence are currently at the berths. One ship namely Guido expected to sail on Friday, while three vessels viz Johar, Cemara, Sp 5-Eric G Gibson are expected to sail on Saturday.
Four vessels viz Lalazar, Stolt Avenir, Gallant Wave and Soon Fu due to arrive on Friday, while eight ships namely Tigran Martirosyan, Kuo Chang, Mega II, Mol Asante, Wan Hai 306, Iran Kordestan, Zheng Xing and Hai An Cheng are due to arrive on Saturday.
PORT QASIM:
A total cargo volume of 94,802 tonnes comprising 72,359 tonnes import and 22,443 tonnes export inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 2,125 containers (TEUs) was handled during last 24 hours ending at 0800 hours on Friday.
The cargo comprised of 40,466 tonnes furnace oil; 3,497 tonnes edible oil; 8,739 tonnes seeds; 3,014 tonnes chemicals, 2,961 tonnes cement; and 36,126 tonnes containerised cargo.
Four ships namely CV ACX Jasmine, MT Anette Kosan and MT Pacific Jade sailed out to sea during the report period, during last 24 hours.
A total of five vessels viz Maersk Arkansas, Sima Paya, CMA CGM Simba, Makran and Tiwai Maru are currently at the outer anchorage.
Three ships namely CV Maersk Arkansas, CV CMA CGM Simba and CV Sima Paya due to take berths on Friday.
Five ships namely CV MSC Eleorona, CV Xiang Wan, CV MT Moring Glory, MT Yanaseni and MV Nord Jupitor with containers, diesel oil, chemicals and seeds due to arrive on Friday, while five more ships namely CV MSC Brianna, CV Phoenix, CV MSC Aurora, CV Pacer and MT Warbah with container and diesel oil are due to arrive on Saturday.
