Mian Amer Mahmood District Nazim, Lahore on Saturday directed to start work on second phase of drain for the disposal of rainwater from Mall Road, GPO, Nabaha Road and adjacent areas within this month which would cost Rs 30 million.
He issued these directions while chairing a meeting here on Saturday. Managing Director Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) Nadeem Hassan Asif told the meeting that a disposal station at Lake Road near PIA Planetarium would also be constructed at a cost Rs 10 million. Most of the work on drain at Mall Road has been completed at a cost of Rs 10 million while tender has already been invited for the second phase which would be started during the current month, he added.
He said that Wasa engineers are responsible for the timely and execution of work through contractors. He also said that he would personally supervise the construction work but Deputy Managing Director would be responsible for ensuring quality of work.
