Pakistan and Romania discuss ways to enhance cooperation

Khurshid M. Kasuri Foreign Minister talking to Deputy Prime Minister of Romania Bodgan Pascu at the Foreign Office expressed satisfaction at the growing co-operation and exchange of high-level visits between Pakistan and Romania.
They agreed that such visits provided impetus to promoting bilateral co-operation.
Foreign Minister Kasuri told the Deputy Prime Minister that Pakistan attached great importance to its relations with Romania, which is an important country in Europe and would like to further strengthen relations. Foreign Minister Kasuri recalled the history of close relations between the two countries in particular industrial co-operation with Pakistan.
The Foreign Minister congratulated the Deputy Prime Minister on Romania's accession to EU and expressed the hope that Romania's membership of EU on January 1, 2007 would give Pakistan the opportunity for greater partnership in various fields.
Ecodgan Pascu emphasised the need for enhanced co-operation in science and technology and commerce between Pakistan and Romania. He offered Romania's help in training in Information Technology, which he said, was one of the best in the world.
Besides, Romania also had well-developed facilities in the health sector. He said Pakistani health services, could benefit from Romanian expertise and co-operation in the field. Ecodgan Pascu is on a six-day trip to Pakistan. Besides, Islamabad Pascu also, visited Karachi and Lahore.
