Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan on Saturday inaugurated the inter-city bus terminal at Yousuf Goth, RCD Highway. Addressing on the occasion, he said shifting of bus terminals out of the city would not only help improving traffic flow but also reducing crimes.
He said more such bus terminals to be made to shift some 200 illegal bus termini presently operating in the densely populated areas of the city. He said federal government would provide all-out support to the provincial and city governments in improving civic infrastructure of Karachi. He said developing Karachi was in fact the developing of Pakistan.
Sindh Transport Minister Adil Siddiqui said illegal bus terminals in the city were resulting in traffic jams, road accidents and creating immense problems for citizens.
City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal said the Yousuf Goth terminal would be further expanded so as to increase its parking capacity for 500 more buses.
