Agricultural tools industry to be upgraded

Provincial government has prepared a detailed plan for upgrading the agricultural tools manufacturing industry on modern lines and its upgradation in the Punjab.
Official sources told Business Recorder here on Saturday that under the programme government would extend technical support and guidance for modernising and capacity building to the agricultural tools producing in the Punjab.
Under the plan special attention would also be focused on upgradation of existing industrial units including Daska tehsil of Sialkot district and other areas of the Punjab. It may be mentioned that Daska is a nucleus and had a special repute in manufacturing of various type of agricultural gears with traditional technology and catering the requirements of farmer community since long in the Punjab.
Keeping in view the importance and skill of agricultural tools manufactures the Punjab government has decided to extend full support, guidance and loan facility to the manufacturers engaged with the manufacturing of agricultural machinery for modernisation of their industrial units enabling them to fulfil the domestic needs more easily.
The government had already initiated a plan for the establishment of agro-based industries in far-off areas of the Punjab and under the plan loan facility would be extending to the interested persons for setting agro-based industries in rural areas of the province.
The government was motivating the agricultural tools manufacturers that they should avail the loan facilities and concessions for advancement of their industrial units and capacity building, sources added.
