Mehmood Ali laid to rest

Minister of State for Cabinet Division and Tehrik-e-Takmeel-e-Pakistan chief Mehmood Ali was laid to eternal rest at main graveyard here on Saturday.
Special prayers were held at the graveyard for lasting peace of the departed soul. Attendants prayed that may Allah Almighty give courage to the deceased's family to bear this loss with fortitude.
Earlier, the funeral prayers of the late minister were held at Faisal Mosque. Wreaths on behalf of President General Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao were laid on the grave. Besides, relatives and friends of the late minister also showered flowers on his grave.
Participants paid rich tributes to him for his service for Muslims and Pakistan, and reiterated the resolve to continue his mission. He was a great champion of unity of Muslims and was in favour of united Pakistan.
It may be recalled that Mehmood Ali, 88, was attending a function of a private school here when he suffered a massive heart attack and expired while being taken to hospital. The office-bearers of Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) have expressed deep sorrow on the demise of Mahmood Ali, who passed away in Lahore on Friday.
