28-kg tumour removed from a patient's abdomen

A tumour weighing about 28 kg was removed from the abdomen of a patient after a three-hour long operation here at a private hospital late on Saturday night in Bhains Colony, near Bin Qasim Town.
Dr Amanullah Mugheri, general surgeon of Maryam General Hospital, who conducted the operation, told Online that on Saturday a patient, Nihala w/o Saifullah, 45, was brought to the hospital with complaint of pain in abdomen.
When ultrasound of the patient was conducted, it showed that there was a tumour in her abdomen, the doctor said. On this, she was operated upon for removal of the tumour.
After a three hours long operation, which started on 11:00 pm, and lasted till 3:00 am on Saturday night, the tumour was removed, he said.
He said that the tumour weighed about 28 kg. He said that it could prove fatal if it was not removed for some more days.
