LHC withdraws contempt of court notice

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has withdrawn contempt of court notices issued against Babar Awan, counsel of Benazir Bhutto, after eight years. The court had taken the action against Babar Awan during the course of proceedings in a reference against Benazir Bhutto.
Then Chief Justice of LHC Rashid Aziz had constituted a five-member bench for the disposal of contempt of court proceedings. While disposing of contempt matter, a full bench of the LHC observed that the bar and the bench are two wheel of a cart and both the institutions are responsible to strengthen each other. The court also disposed of the petition of Babar Awan against prosecutor Majeeb-ur-Rehman as he did not press over it.
