Kidney centre symposium on November 25

The Kidney Centre, Post Graduate Institute is organising first two-day annual symposium on Saturday (November 25). The symposium under the theme 'Trainees today, our Tomorrow: Empower Future' will be inaugurated by Syed Mustufa Kamal, Karachi City Nazim.
The objective of the symposium is to provide an opportunity to health care professionals to educate and update on the current scientific issues of clinical practice in Nephrology and Urology. The scientific proceedings include a keynote lecture by Professor Roger Sutton from University of British Columbia on 'Renal Stone: New Path Physiology insight - implication for medical prevention'. In addition there will be combined sessions for Urologist & Nephrologists on issues in postgraduate education in sub-speciality, ethical issues in renal transplant and renal health planning.
Parallel sessions also scheduled on current issues in hypertension, diabetic nephropathy, pre-dialysis medical management and CMV infection in renal transplant.
Leading experts, including Dr Tazeen Jaffar (Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi), Professor Akhtar Ali (P.G.M.I. Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar), Dr Aizaz Mand (Shaikh Zayed Hospital, Lahore), Dr Naseem Salahuddin (Liaqat National Hospital, Karachi), Professor Saeed Akhtar (Shifa International, Islamabad), Dr Farahat Abbas (AKUH, Karachi), Professor Zafar Zaidi (Indus Hospital, Karachi), Professor Altaf Hashmi (SIUT, Karachi), Professor Aasim Ahmad (TKCPGTI, Karachi), Professor Sajjad Hussain (PGMI Lahore General Hospital) would deliver their lectures.
