NWFP government and SCCI to raise industries problems with Centre

The President of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) and NWFP Industries Secretary Abdul Khaliq in a meeting here at the Chamber House on Wednesday agreed to maintain close relations for raising problems and difficulties in the industrial sector at federal government level.
The Secretary further assured the Chamber regarding removal of hurdles in shifting machinery from Gadoon Industrial Estates for repairs within 15 days. The meeting was also attended by SCCI senior vice president Mohammad Israr Saraf and member of the executive committee Ahmad Khan.
The SCCI chief said that lack of co-ordination between business community and provincial government was creating hurdles in the resolution of a number of problems. He stressed need for holding consultations between the chamber and the government in connections with appointment of the private sector secretaries in different provincial departments.
Sarhad Chamber of Commerce & Industry president Liaquat Ahmad Khan and Secretary Industries agreed to constitute a three-member committee comprising Chamber president, Secretary Industries, and Chairman, Sarhad Development Authority (SDA) to hold meeting with Federal Minister for Industries Jehangir Tareen.
