The seminars held under the "One dollar shop" programme for the business sector have proved very successful, with many small entrepreneurs developing one-dollar products that are sure to find a place in the international market.
Punjab Industries minister Ajmal Cheema told a delegation of businessmen at his office here on Tuesday, that export orders for the one-dollar products had already started coming in, according to a handout.
He said that the Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) would issue soft loans to small business entrepreneurs for developing new 'one-dollar products' on easy terms with a mark-up of 7 to 8 percent only.
The PSIC will provide free information and facilities to manufacturers/exporters of these products, while businessmen interested in manufacture only will be assisted and provided exporters for their products, he added. The minister observed that through the one-dollar programme, Pakistani products would be able to earn an estimated 3 to 4 billion dollars after two to three years.
