23 Nov, 2006

The government is making all out efforts to create sectarian harmony and promotion of Islamic values in the country, said Punjab Auqaf Minister Syed Saeedul Hassan while talking to a delegation of Ulema here on Wednesday.
He asked religious scholars to co-operate with the government in its efforts to establish a model Islamic society in the light of Quran and Sunnah. He said that his ministry was managing 15 dispensaries in different places of the city, apart from the Data Darbar Hospital, where free treatment and medicines were being provided to the poor.
A Seerat Academy and Quran Complex to be set up in Lahore will provide research material on different aspects of life of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), he added. The minister urged the Ulema to work for and maintain an atmosphere of 'Ittehad-e-bainul Muslimeen' in the country.
