LHC disposes of petition

23 Nov, 2006

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday disposed of a petition filed by head of Khaksar Tehrik, when government allowed him to hold a public meeting at Minar-e-Pakistan on November 27 instead of November 26.
The petitioner had approached the court against the district administration for not allowing him to hold a public meeting at Minar-e-Pakistan on November 26.
An official of home department informed the court that Chinese President is due in the city on November 26, hence due to security reasons, government cannot allow to hold a public meeting on the said date. He however, said that the petitioner could hold a public meeting on Minar-e-Pakistan on an alternate day.
