The Karachi Port handled 44,489 tonnes cargo including 35,785 tonnes import, 8,704 tonnes export cargo and 2,641 containers during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday.
The cargo comprised of 40,049 tonnes dry cargo including 31,997 tonnes general cargo; 4,060 tonnes fertiliser; 2,267 tonnes rapeseed; 1,725 tonnes rice, 8,052 tonnes bulk cargo and 4,440 tonnes oil/liquid cargo. Four ships namely Iran Hesabi, APL Jeddah, Hyundai Advance, Sotiria ;and Rising Om sailed out to sea during the report period.
Five vessels viz Corinthiakos, Y M Sun, Hyundai Advance, Atlantic Diamond, and Sky Star are currently at the berths. Two ships namely Atlantic Diamond and Y M Sun expected to sail on Thursday. Three vessels viz MT Swat, Iran Tabatabaei and Mega II due to arrive on Friday.
The cargo comprised of 7,600 tonnes chemicals; 5,119 tonnes diesel oil; 1,363 tonnes edible oil; 8,323 tonnes rice; 4,204 tonnes cement and 35,360 tonnes containerised cargo. Four ships namely MT Matina, MT Lady Jasmine, MT Warbah and CV Sealand Independence sailed out to sea during the report period, during last 24 hours.
One vessel viz CV Bavaria Express is expected to sail on Thursday. A total of five vessels viz MSC Aurora, Ibn Battotah, Stella, New Toyokaze and Nord Jupiter are currently at the outer anchorage. Three ships namely CV MSC Aurora, CV Ibn Battotah and MT Toyokaze due to take berths on Thursday.
Bulk cargo carrier MV Captain George-I is due to arrive on Thursday, while four more ships namely CV ACX Lavender, CV Maersk Arkansas, CV Pacer and MT Anette Kosan with containers and chemicals are due to arrive on Friday.
