Arrival of Haj pilgrims picking up

25 Nov, 2006

The arrival of Haj pilgrims here from across the world is gradually picking up and the arrangements for them are now in full operation.
This year over 150,000 pilgrims will come from Pakistan. The largest number is expected from Egypt followed by Islamic Republic of Iran, Pakistan and Indonesia and Turkey.
Special health regulations have also been enforced in the holy city of Makkah and regular sprays for keeping the city free of flies and mosquitoes and other insects are being carried out while the municipal personnel are on duty round the clock. The provision of Abe Zaz Zam to the pilgrims as also in the precincts of the Masjid Al Haram is also at its optimum level.
