A member of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) has approached the Lahore High Court (LHC) with prayer to direct the respondent government to constitute market committees.
The petitioner, M.D. Tahir contended that the respondent government is bound to constitute market committees but administrators are looking after its affairs illegally and without lawful authority. It was contended that the respondents had appointed their favourites as administrators who are instead of regulating the affairs of the markets in accordance with the law, misusing their offices and acting illegally and without lawful authority. He, therefore, prayed to the court to cancel the appointments of the administrators and constitute market committees in accordance with the law.
