Lahore Division Sarafa and Jewellers Association (LDSJA) has urged the Punjab Chief Minister to order strict implementation of the law regarding recovery of stolen gold jewellery. This demand was made at a meeting held here on Friday under the chairmanship of Haji Mushtaq Ahmad, President of the Lahore Division Sarafa and Jewellers Association.
The meeting also reviewed the performance of the association, government policy towards gems and jewellery industry and police action against the jewellers' community under the garb of recovery of stolen gold jewellery.
Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Ahmad said that the jewellers' community is ready to cooperate with the police for the strict implementation of the law. On this occasion the elections of the central council of Lahore Division Sarafa and Jewellers Association were also held.
The office bearers who were elected included Muhammad Ahmad, Chairman (Soha Bazar); Dilawar Ali, Vice-Chairman (Islampura); Haji Mushtaq Ahmad, President (Mozang); Rana Muhammad Asghar, Senior Vice-President (Lahore Cantt.); Tariq Mahmood, General Secretary (Garhi Shahu); Muhammad Naeem, Vice-President (Liberty Market); Muneer Hussain, Vice-President (Latif Plaza); Ijaz Tufail, Vice-President (Multan Road); Masood Ali Mahmood, Joint Secretary (Dhobi Mandi); Rana Wajid, Finance Secretary (Shahdara) and Sohail Mahmood, Co-ordination Secretary (Township).
