A list of 12 "A" class contractors has been submitted to the Pakistan government for implementation of a highway project, costing about RM one billion.
Malaysian Works Minister Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu said here on Friday the highway project, which would be from Multan to Faisalabad, would be financed by loans from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
"The Pakistan government wants to carry out several road projects and has requested us to submit the names of the contractors. They do not have the contractors for the project," he said.
"We have identified 12 "A" class contractors who will compete for the project when the tenders are opened," he told reporters here. He said that ADB had also requested for the names of contractors for the project.
