Despite the conclusion of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session, 14 members of treasury benches arrived in New York on Sunday night to witness the proceedings of the session on government expense, sources told Online on Monday.
They were scheduled to depart for US at the end of October on government expense but they were barred owing to passing of women protection bill (WPB) from parliament.
Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz had allowed ruling PML and its allies' members to attend the General Assembly session and summary in this regard was also approved but they were restricted until the Women Protection Bill was passed. After passing of WPB, they were allowed but the session of General Assembly had concluded.
The 14 MPs who arrived in the US are Mir Hazar Khan Bajarani, Rao Ajmal Khan, Syed Gulzar Subtain, Abdul Qaddar Gillani, Guyan Singh Chand, Javed Ali Shah, Nisar Pinhoor, Niaz Jakkar, Pir Aslam Bodla, Imran-ul-Allah, Basit Bari, Azhar Yousaf Zai, Junaid Mumtaz Joya and Khawaja Shiraz.
