IGP asked to probe forced labour case

The Supreme Court has directed Inspector General Police Punjab to conduct an independent inquiry through honest and competent police officers about complaints of forced labour in Gujranwala district.
The apex court gave this instruction on an application of one Zaigham Abbas who had expressed dissatisfaction over the investigation by Gujranwala police about abduction of his 18 relatives by kiln owners for forced labour. The bench comprising Justice Mohammad Nawaz Abbasi and Sayed Saeed Ashhad asked the IGP to submit his report in three weeks.
