Gram prices sharply down on grain market

Sharp fall in prices was seen on the grain market on Tuesday as grams prices moved downward in the absence of fresh demand and steady supplies from the upcountry centres, dealers said.
On the grams sector, gram garda Punjab lost Rs 100 to Rs 3200-3300, gram dal garda Punjab shed Rs 200 to Rs 3800-3900. Yellow peas Canada inferior type shed Rs 10 to Rs 1600 and the better type was down by Rs 25 to Rs 1675. Beetle chana No 1 was sharply lower by Rs 250 to Rs 3200-3350, they said.
Beetle 50x50 followed the same trend and lost the same pattern at Rs 3050-3150, they said. Dall beetle low type shed Rs 100 to Rs 3850 and best quality shed Rs 50 to Rs 3950 in process of trading. Bajra on the same side did not move any side at Rs 1075-1300 in lacklustre business, other sectors remained quiet due to smooth supply, dealers said.
