The Punjab government has initiated an action plan "Health for All" to provide better health facilities to masses living in rural and urban areas of the province. Under the plan special attention would be focused on the improvement of government hospitals functioning at district and tehsil headquarters.
Official sources told Business Recorder here on Wednesday that under the plan special attention had been focused to provide maximum treatment facilities to the rural population at their doorsteps.
They said the government was utilising more than Rs6 billion on the upgradation of rural health centres and basic health units in the province. Apart from this Burn units in all the government hospitals would be set up, besides making adequate arrangements to improve the functioning of emergency wards.
