Punjab PPPP chief hits out at government policies

Shah Mehmood Qureshi President of PPPP Punjab addressing a public meeting at Shah Kamal here Thursday castigated government for its biased policies. He urged masses to break their lull and struggle against authoritarian tendencies for the supremacy of democracy in the Country.
He said due to inapt policies adopted by the present regime danger had erupted for the Federation as well as the people of the country. He asked labourers, peasants, lawyers and other walks of life to make effort for restoration of the constitution.
Speaking of law & order Qureshi said that its depleting situation had put masses under constant stress and fear. Qasim Zia Leader of Opposition in Provincial Assembly speaking on the occasion denied that there was any deal between PPPP and the Government. Zia showed optimism that Benazir would become prime minister for the third time.
Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly warned that if the present government failed to hold free and fair elections and there was some sort of rigging mass movement could be launched against it. He said PPPP believed in politics of people and they were hopeful that in next elections their party would win by a thumping majority.
Ghulam Abbas General Secretary of PPPP Punjab addressing the gathering lauded the role of late Chairman Zulifqar Ali Bhutto for the cause of the Country. Aziz-u-Rehman Chan PPPP City President also spoke on the occasion.
