Minister to inspect uplift projects today

Population Welfare Minister Shahbaz Hussain will visit Sohawa on Saturday to review and inspect the progress of MNA development projects there. He will also attend a gathering of local elders, sources said.
They said that the developmental projects pertaining to electricity, telephone and roads were undertaken utilising Rs5 million MNA development fund in the four tehsils of Sohawa, Dina, Jhelum and Pind Daden Khan. Villages of these tehsils would be provided electricity under PM's electricity provision programme.
The ministry would also take the media teams to visit the area along with the ministerial team. Local government members, including district nazim, naib nazim from the tehsils of Sohawa, Jhelum, Pind Daden Khan and Dina, besides political leaders would also attend the meeting, they added.
They said that the minister had earlier reviewed the projects feasibility reports and the meeting decided to carry out these projects. About population welfare programmes, they said that the ministry had increased the mobile services units for rural areas and the number of female staff would also be enhanced so that women of these areas could have access to population welfare services.
