Effort on to bring the 1973 constitution into real shape: Rao

Federal Minister for Defence Rao Sikandar Iqbal said that it is our effort to bring the 1973 constitution into its real shape and eliminate the unIslamic and unnecessary amendments being made in the past.
"We supported Musharraf for his enlighten moderation but can't tolerate unlawful practices in the name of Islam in Pakistan" Rao Sikandar said. He expressed these views to the journalists at his residence at People's House Okara on Friday.
He said that Pakistan came into being after the thousands of sacrifices of our ancestors and we are too ready to sacrifice our lives for Pakistan. He said that if we do not come into power then there would have been exist no assemblies. We are supporters of democracy and want to see it flourishing, he added.
In response to a question he said Peoples Party Patriot is not going to merge in another party but would context election under its distinctive electoral symbol.
He further said that we are still stand by our previous slogans ie "Food, dress and House". We want justice and peace in the country. And we are ready to take any kind of challenge, he said.
