Schools for special children being set up

The Sialkot district government is spending more than Rs 2.254 million during the current fiscal period for the welfare of special children in Sialkot district.
Official sources told Business Recorder here on Saturday that the special children would also be provided free textbooks, uniforms, wheel chairs and hearing aid instruments, besides pick and drop facility and Rs 200 per month as stipend.
Apart from this, schools for special children were being established in Daska and Pasrur tehsils at a cost of Rs 35 million. The work on the establishment of schools would be carried out shortly.
The step has been taken for making the special kids a useful citizen of the society and to enable them to play their due role in all round development of the country, said the sources.
The district government was also considering to conduct a detailed survey of special children in Sialkot, Pasrur, Daska and Sambrial tehsils of the district for assessing the exact number of handicapped children in the area sources revealed.
