Airbus sold 127 planes in November

03 Dec, 2006

Airbus sold 127 jets in November, bringing the number of sales so far this year to 635 aircraft, the planemaker said on Friday. November's deals included a shot in the arm for its slow-selling A340 four-engine planes, criticised by many airlines as too expensive compared to modern twin jets.
India's Kingfisher Airlines signed up for 5 of the ultra-long-range A340-500 model, its first success since December 2004, according to Airbus monthly order figures.
Overall sales were once again dominated by single-aisle A320-family models including a 52-jet order from easyJet. Deliveries for 2006 stood at 399 to end-November, Airbus said.
