The Karachi Port handled 92,069 tonnes cargo including 71,116 tonnes import, 20,953 tonnes export cargo and 2,598 containers during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Saturday.
The cargo comprised of 36,869 tonnes dry cargo including 28,729 tonnes general cargo; 8,140 tonnes bulk cargo and 55,200 tonnes oil/liquid cargo. Three ships sailed out to sea during the report period. Six vessels are currently at the berths.
The cargo comprised of 3,361 tonnes edible oil; 306 tonnes LPG; 3,099 tonnes rice; 10,912 tonnes coke; 4,223 tonnes seeds, 270 tonnes general cargo and 25,874 tonnes containerised cargo. Four ships namely CV Xiang Wan, CV Al Mirqab, MT Chepstow and CV Sima Pars sailed out to sea during the report period, during last 24 hours.
Container vessel Maersk Arkansas is expected to sail on Saturday.
A total of six vessels viz Sima Pars, Maersk Arkansas, Legiony Polskle, Captain George-I, BBC Finland and Sturdy Falcon are currently at the outer anchorage.
Two ships namely CV MSC Germany and CV MSC Selin due to take berths on Saturday.
Container vessel MSC Kayri due to arrive on Saturday, while three more ships namely CV MSC Don Giovanni, MT Chemroad Padua and MT Spirit-11 with chemicals, crude oil and containers are due to arrive on Sunday.
The cargo comprised of 49,745 diesel oil; 65,076 tonnes furnace oil; 27,941 edible oil; 7,525 tonnes chemicals; 2,504 tonnes LPG; 48,482 tonnes iron ore; 47,515 tonnes rice and 179,078 tonnes containerised cargo. A total of twenty-one ships took berths to load/offload the above cargoes, while twenty-three vessels sailed out to sea during the reporting week.
