Punjab Minister for Labour Rana Qasim Noon has said that since the world had been turned into a global village owing to the development of information technology, the youth of the country should acquire computer as well as latest information technology education to succeed in this world and to face the challenges of the modern world.
Addressing a seminar held by Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and the city district government jointly on "Demand-Based IT Training", he said the Punjab government had launched a revolutionary project to boost the IT sector in the province. He further said the first-ever IT Park was being set up in Lahore at a cost of Rs 2 billion, adding the government was expecting IT and telecom trade worth over Rs 9 billion through this park.
The minister further said the entire world was facing the problem of unemployment. He added the country could also earn precious foreign exchange by producing software programmes as our neighbour country India was earning billions of dollars per year through this sector.
