Russia's largest cell phone company Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) reported on November 29 that the best quarterly financial results in its history exceeding market expectations for the third quarter across the board.
The company said in a statement that net profit amounted to $486.3 million, while a Reuters poll of analysts produced an average figure of $388.1 million.
Revenues amounted to $1.80 billion compared with $1.69 billion in analysts' predictions.
Earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) was $962.8 million versus $874.6 million in the Reuters poll.
EBITDA margin, a key figure showing a company's efficiency, stood at 53.6 percent compared with 51.6 percent expected by analysts.
Average revenue per user (ARPU) amounted to $8.6 in Russia, above market expectations of $8.3.
