Survey of Katchi Abadis ordered

Sindh Minister for Local Government and Katchi Abadies, Muhmmad Hussain on Monday issued directive for a survey of Katchi Abadies of Korangi to ascertain their status for provision of lease.
Addressing at an open katchery in Korangi, he said, after comprehensive evaluation of these Abadies, cases of their regularisation would be considered sympathetically. The Minister directed Town Municipal Administration (TMA) Korangi to make all out efforts for solution of problems related to water, sewerage and roads while UUC Nazims and Councillors should also endeavour to facilitate the masses.
The Minister observed that TMAs are doing an excellent job, but room still exists for improvement. He warned that no slackness would be tolerated in the execution of development schemes. On pointation from a resident, he assured early construction of boundary wall of sports ground and said potable water should be provided to areas identified by people.
He said purpose of these open katcheries is to have a first hand knowledge of problems confronted by the residents. It also provide an opportunity of close interaction, exchange of views and evolving a viable strategy for solution of even the most complicated problems of the locals.
Hussain assured the participants that they would get progress report regarding their grievances presented to him, within three days. Town Nazim, Muhammad Arif Khan Advocate speaking on the occasion said a visible change could be noticed in respect of various development schemes and cleanliness situation as compared to a year earlier. He said encroachments from different areas of the Town have been removed to facilitate implementation of development projects.
