Diplomats from six major powers will meet in Paris on Tuesday for talks on Iran's disputed nuclear programme, France said on Monday. Political directors from foreign ministries of the six would "discuss the Iranian nuclear issue", French Foreign Ministry spokesman Jean-Baptiste Mattei said at a regular online press briefing.
The six parties involved are United Nations Security Council permanent members Russia, China, France, Britain and the United States, plus Germany. They are trying to agree how to deal wits as strong as those favoured by Washington and European countries, which accuse Iran of seeking the technology to build a nuclear bomb. Tehran says its programme is peaceful.
