Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan said that arrangements were being made for making local universities at par with international universities in standard of education.
This would help teachers and students of the universities to enhance their skills in accordance with standard research and education, he stated, while talking to Middle East Technical University (Metu) Rector Professor Dr Ural Akbulut here on Wednesday.
Professor Ural was accompanied by Professor Dr Tanveer Wasti of Metu, while NED University Project Director-in-Chief Professor Dr Muzaffar Mahmood, Professor Dr Sarosh Lodhi and Additional Secretary Aftab Lodhi were also present on the occasion.
Emphasizing the need for establishing a 'techno park' in NED University, the governor sought support of Metu in this regard. He viewed these projects would advance pace of research and help in providing benefits of universities to common man.
He was hopeful that both universities would provide optimal services to Ummah in the field of technology. Professor Ural apprised the governor about his university and exchanged views on collaboration in various fields, including faculty development, short and long-term training, joint research projects, and setting up the techno park.
