A seminar in connection with the International Human Rights Day was held at National Library Auditorium, Islamabad on Monday with an objective to create awareness about the importance of human rights.
It was organised by the ministry of Law, Justice and Human Rights with a theme "Development Of Human Rights Friendly Culture Is Must For The Social Fabric". Minister of State for Law, Justice and Human Rights Shahid Akram Bhinder was the chief guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion the minister said that the government under the dynamic leadership of President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz is fully committed to support and ensure human rights, which are guaranteed in the constitution. He also informed the audience about the setting up of National Commission for Women Status by the government. He said that the bill in this regard is with the Parliament and hopefully it would be passed shortly.
