Indonesian share prices higher

Indonesian share prices closed 1.38 percent higher Tuesday on an extended technical rebound, supported by Perusahaan Gas Negara which surged after it resumed trading, dealers said.
PGN was suspended Monday after the stock slumped 23 percent last Friday in the wake of a company announcement there would be a three-month delay in the start-up of commercial operations on a new gas pipeline.
The composite index closed up 23.819 points at 1,754.294 on volume of 2.13 billion shares worth 3.07 trillion rupiah (338.18 million dollars). Gainers led losers 96 to 56, while 52 stocks were unchanged. The rupiah strengthened to 9,073/9,078 to the dollar from 9,113/9,118 late Monday.
