The classic cooperation between the filed operations, the training directorates and the HRM wing has culminated in setting up a hostel facility at Karachi for our probationers of 33rd Common undergoing MBA Tax Management program at the Institute of Business Administration, University of Karachi.
All credit goes to Mr Aqeel Zafrul Hassan, RCIT, Karachi for making the special facility available for the purpose and to Mr Fateh Mohammad Shaikh, Director DOTR who willingly dished out Rs 2.00 million from his own budget to meet this urgent requirement. This is not only a brilliant example of team work but also a great demonstration of cohesive and congenial atmosphere between the two streams of CBR namely Direct Tax and Customs/Sales Tax/FE.
The hostel facility has been very aptly name "Iqra Biock" is equipped with Personal Computers, Internet access and cable net to provide an extremely conducive environment for studies, research and intellectual entertainment.
This has been achieved in a record time of a few days under the dynamic leadership of Mr Aqeel Zafrul Hassan who took personal interest in supervising the civil work and acquiring the necessary equipment. Of course, without the active support of our Chairman, this project could not have materialised.
It is now up to our probationers to prove that they are worthy of the trust and confidence reposed in them, I am confident that we have a select band of officers who have gone through the rigorous selection process of FPSC and subsequently though the hectic training schedules of Civil Services Academy and the Directorates of Training. IBA training and academic requirement are far too strict and harsh but I am very hopeful that this batch of 33rd probationers will come out with flying colours in the IBA examinations also. Thus, CBR will be further strengthened through the induction of this batch of thorough professionals once they complete their entire cycle of MBA Tax Management Degree through, CSA, DOTs and the IBA. I wish them all the luck they need and pray for their continued success at IBA and thereafter in their respective job situations.
