Federal Minister for Political Affairs Engineer Amir Muqam has said that Islam does not allow anyone to inflict harm upon innocent lives and the government is working on the same lines to protect the citizens from dark forces of terrorism and extremism.
Addressing a big public gathering here at Puran on Sunday, the minister said President Musharraf was working selflessly with his broad vision to tackle these issues.
He said the government's vision was to secure progress and prosperity for every citizen of the country. And it has been successfully achieving these targets with provision of all basic facilities, he added.
Muqam asked the people to reject retrogressive elements in the next elections.
He said it is our collective responsibility to counter terrorism and those involved in these activities are the enemies of Islam and Pakistan.
He said MMA government in NWFP would face the public wrath in the upcoming elections as they practised politics of self-interest. He said the parties like ANP and PPPP did nothing for the betterment of the province during their tenures.
The minister said PML-N and PPPP leaders were only working to safeguard the interests of their mentors and the nation had completely rejected the 'plunderers of national wealth.'
He said under the dynamic leadership of President and Prime Minister the country was marching on the road to progress. He said the country's financial foundations had been strengthened and people got rid from foreign loans.
A record number of development projects were being implemented in the province and PML would emerge as single majority party in the country, he added.
