The Nice Link Trust inaugurated its eight project of installing water desalination plant and water desalination through solar system at Ibrahim Haidry and Rehri here the other day.
The function was attended by BASF Managing Director Sajid Ali Qazi, MPA Begum Saeeda Bano Saghir Siddiqui, Sindh CM's Special Assistant Colonel Asim Fawad of Alternate Energy Development Board, and other dignitaries.
The function was presided overby the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr Hans Jochim Kiderlen. The project was sponsored by the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Speaking on the occasion Nice Link Secretary General S.S. Haider said that as Nice Link Trust was committed for water purification, research and development of alternate and renewable resources of energy, they were trying to facilitate the needy and deserving people of the coastal areas by purifying their municipal water and making it potable.
"This we are doing through the help of our donors," he added. He laid stress on the Coastal Areas Development Authority to properly utilise the $21 million funds, which the Asian Development Bank had given for water treatment of the coastal areas specially Thatta and Badin.
