The Executive District Officer Agriculture, Hyderabad Shahabuddin Siddiqui while taking serious notice of black-marketing and hoarding of fertiliser in the market of Hyderabad has directed the fertiliser dealers trading in Hyderabad districts to declare their present stock position and submit the same to his organisation on daily basis. Failing which legal action would be taken against them, he warned.
This he directed while presiding over the meeting regarding availability of fertiliser in the market at his office on Thursday. The meeting which was attended by the growers, representatives of fertilisers dealers, District Officers Agriculture Extension and Deputy District Officer Extension of Hyderabad district discussed the difficulties and losses being faced by the growers due to artificial shortage of fertiliser.
Addressing the meeting, the EDO Agriculture Hyderabad Shahabuddin Siddiqui said Prime Minister of Pakistan had announced the fertilisers package under which subsidy of Rs 250 per bag was given to growers. But due to artificial shortage and black-marketing practice in some parts of the districts, the growers were not being benefited accordingly. He directed the fertilisers' inspectors to put strict vigilance on this wrong practice of black Marketing, and monitor the availability of fertilisers in the market.
He also directed them to check the stock registers of dealers and ensure that price lists are displayed on the prominent place of the dealers' shop. He warned that in case of not producing relevant record to the fertiliser inspectors, legal action would be taken against the responsible dealers. He said the meeting to ensure the availability of fertilisers would be held regularly on monthly basis.
