2008 to be year of general elections: Nakai

03 Feb, 2007

Opposition should give up its stance of negative politics and support government policies for people's welfare, said State Minister Mohammed Asif Nakai. Addressing a reception in Pattoki in UC 21 on Friday, the state minister for housing and works said that continuation of current policies was a must for the development of the country.
He said that 2008 would be the year of general elections. Condemning the recent incidents of suicide bombings, Nakai said such heinous acts were perpetrated by those elements, who wanted to impede progress and development in the country. He emphasised that all such elements would be dealt with iron hands to protect innocent citizens, maintain peace and a congenial environment for economic progress in the country.
