'PhD faculty must for new programmes'

Chairman, Higher Education Commission (HEC), Professor Dr Atta-ur-Rahman has expressed disapproval of universities introducing new programmes without requisite regular faculty PhD level.
Responding to a news report that Fatima Jinnah Women University Rawalpindi would soon be beginning 26 new disciplines this year, the Chairman pointed out that strong faculty with doctoral degrees were now a pre-requisite for initiating new programmes. He said it was expected of universities to provide the best possible faculty before new programmes were launched.
